What is .bank?

.bank is a gated domain, like .gov or .edu but is exclusive to verified banks unlike .net or .com which can be purchased by anyone.  Moving to .bank provides enhanced trust for our customers. Banks who have a .bank domain  are verified and authenticated prior to registering their .bank domain and re-verified annually thereafter. New "dot-bank" domains are being implemented in the industry.

Why did we switch?

Moving to .bank makes it easier for our customers to identify our bank’s website  and helps prevent users from being routed to fake bank websites.  A strict verification process ensures that only legitimate entities can register for a .bank domain, making it extremely difficult for fraudsters.  We are just as secure as we were before. The security measures taken by Midwest Bank will remain the same.

Do I need to do anything differently now that midwestbank.net has changed to midwestbank.bank?

Over time, you should update your address book and bookmarks for our site. Always check for the .bank domain.

Will I have to capitalize the “b” in .bank

No, whether you choose to capitalize or leave the "B" lowercase in .bank will not make a difference when you are searching for our website.
